Stromboli is an active volcano, erupting several times an hour. Dives were carried out in La Sciara, the area where Stromboli empties into the sea… Laurent Ballesta and his team discovered an underwater landscape that reveals volcanic activity over time: areas marked by recent lava flows, intermediate zones and places spared by the lava flows. Each of these areas has its own particular ecosystem, sometimes capable of achieving a balance in this volcanic chaos.
